As for the header lifitng it uses a standard 2x8 cylinder maybe 3x8 cant remember. new knives, guards set right, float set right, gear oil filled to right level. Just make sure everything is set up right before you run it. On mine the first time i took it out one hook on the header float springs broke off, not a big deal just heated it and bent a new one. Sounds like this one may have been sittin for awhile. Before that once I got everything set up it ran fine. Sold it for $450 cause I didnt wanna mess with it. Where the pulley attaches to the bottom roller to drive the wobble box is, thats what he messed up royally and i never could get it to run the same. Had a 467 till i let a friend use it that thought he knew what he was doing use it and was never the same after that. The missing shield is a safety issue, it needs to be on, but I don't know why the machine would't operate without it. If that 2010 dosen't have remotes I don't know what you can do. The 2010 I had had the good JD hydraulic hook up behind the seat. It may be that someone has rigged something else. Easy to replace, just jack up the ratchet and set the transport lock which is obvious unless for some reason it is missing, then lower the ratchet until there is no pressure on the ratchet, then remove pins. It is possible to put a mechanical lift in place of the hyd. It's just a standard cylinder using 2 hoses. The haybines use a seperate hydraulic cylinder which you will have to supply. I also had a 2010, engine in poor shape along with other problems, but I think it would have pulled the haybine. 467 is a foot shorter so the 2010 (which has 45hp, BTW) should pull it ok. Pulled it with a 35 hp tractor, no problems.

Have been trying to use a NH sickle bar mower and it is a mess to attach and adjust, plus we lose hay every summer to rain, when a day less dry time (with a haybine) we could have baled it and got it in.ĭidn't use a 467 but had a 469. But the price is affordable and I really need a haybine. Is this replaceable, or usable without the shield?ĭo you think a John Deere 2010 could run a 467 haybine? (about 40 hp.)Īny other things that I should especially look out for when looking at this machine? There is no tractor there so I can't actually see it run, thus any purchase would be pretty much a pig in a poke except for what I can see.

The serial number is like 207,750 or something like that.Īlso, there is a shield or guard missing off the right-hand side, where there is a chain serpentined around a bunch of gears. I asked how do you raise and lower the knife and he doesn't know. The U-joints look good, and appear to have been greased regularly.ĭid all NH 467 haybines use hydraulics? (this one has NO hoses, and I can't see any place where any came off.) The son of the deceased owner says you just hook it up to the tractor drawbar & PTO and go and that he helped his father use it. No teeth or knife guards missing that I can see.

There is rust of course, but the rollers look OK (a few cracks here and there) and the knife still has good sharpness etc. I have a chance to purchase a New Holland 467 haybine.
